Obituary

On September 30, 1945 in Shenandoah, Iowa, Paul E. and Rosa M. (Fecher) Jaeckel welcomed a son, Dwight Lee to their family.  Dwight entered into eternal peace on March 22, 2021 in Villisca, Iowa.

Dwight's early years were spent in the rural area of Shenandoah.  He attended elementary school in White Cloud Rural School and graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1964.  He continued his education at Clarinda Community College and later attended Northwest Missouri State where he majored in Basic and Technical Drafting.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force in June of 1967.  He served his country during the Vietnam War as an Air Freight Specialist.  He was honorably discharged in June of 1971.

Dwight held various jobs over the span of his working years.  He worked for at Shenandoah Ford Sales, J&R Furniture, Eaton Manufacturing, Lindy's Farm Products, Moped Sales, Auto World and prior to his retirement in 2007 he worked for NSK.  Some of his passions included cars, racing, NASCAR and Auto Trend on tv.  He was baptized and confirmed through the Trinity Lutheran Church in Shenandoah.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one niece Diana.  Those left to cherish his memory include his sister Katherine (Ron) Green of Shenandoah, brother Larry (Nancy) Jaeckel of Essex, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
