Dorothy passed away on Tuesday afternoon at the Nebraska Medical Center.

Memorials may be directed to the Elm Heights Care Center or St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Dorothy Louise von Arx, daughter of Edward and Rosa (Studer) von Arx, was born at Home City, Kansas on February 6, 1919. Dorothy entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Dorothy was raised on a farm near Home City and attended country school. She later attended St. Malachy's School in Beattie, Kansas until her senior year when she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Oelwein, Iowa. She graduated with the Class of 1938.

Dorothy moved to Shenandoah in 1950 and went to work for Snow White Laundry for two years. She later gained employment with Bramow Studebaker Auto Dealership. After working for Bramow's she took a job as a bookkeeper for the Allis Chalmers Implement Company, (Youngberg's and later Miller/Carnegy) where she worked for 27 years until her retirement in 1981.

Dorothy was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and the St. Mary's Guild. She was a former member of the Shenandoah B.P.W. and the Three M Card Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters Gladys M. Thomas, Rosella Hayes and Virginia Easton. Those left to honor her memory include six nieces and nephews and five great-nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.
