Dorothy Rae (Kruse) Alexander, daughter of Fredrick Dale and Elda Fern (Moore) Kruse was born on October 24, 1941 in Squires, Missouri. Dorothy entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Golden Rod Care Center in Clarinda, Iowa at the age of 71 years.

Her early life was spent in Ava, Missouri, but the family later moved to Tarkio. One of the most memorable times was when she talked about riding a horse with her daddy to the Tarkio Rodeo. While Dorothy was growing up she was proud to be the leader of the Black Widows, a female gang in Tarkio.

On November 27, 1958, Dorothy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Freddie Leland Alexander at the Congregational Church in Farragut. Following their marriage they resided in Tarkio and Sabetha before moving to Essex. Dorothy had always been a stay at home mom. Cooking, cleaning and taking care of the kids were her top priority. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, quilting, making doilies and loved collecting baskets. She also had an undying love for genealogy and could talk about her family to anyone and everyone!

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years this November, Freddie; her parents; and a granddaughter Jodi Lynn Meier.

Those left to honor her memory include her siblings Kenneth Kruse and Dalene Kruse both of Mound City; children Jim Alexander and wife Rhonda and Shari Meier and husband Steve both of Essex, Barb Greever and husband Phil of College Springs, Ronda Summers and husband Mike of Clarinda and Kathy Alexander of Lawton, OK; 5 grandchildren Jason Meier and wife Tiffany, Jamie Greever and fianc Corey Vaughn, Cassie Sunderman and husband Levi of Clarinda, Karli Brown and Tanner Summers and girlfriend Chandal; 2 step-grandchildren Kayla Duncan and husband Peter and Bobbi Jo Kraeger and boyfriend Trey Smith; great-grandchildren Brittney Meier, Courtney Meier, Carson Sunderman and Kaedyn Summers; step-great-grandchildren Erica Musgrove, Devon Yoshida, Ethan Yoshida and Brayden Kraeger; other relatives and a host of friends.
