Doris Louise DeLong Henstorf was born on July 30, 1919 in Fort Morgan, Colorado. She was one of three children born to Oliver and Amy McGrew-DeLong. She graduated from high school in Fort Morgan and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.

On April 13, 1941 Doris was united in marriage to Robert Harrison Henstorf. The couple was blessed with the birth of two children; Richard and Harriette. They made their home in Farragut, where both Bob and Doris enjoyed their involvement in a variety of professional and social activities.

Doris was active in PEO, Eastern Star, Delta Delta Delta alumnae, First Congregational Church, book clubs and bridge groups. She enjoyed people! Music was a special interest for her. She served as a substitute organist at the Congregational Church for many years. Doris was employed at the First National Bank in Farragut and later worked as a travel agent for Central Travel Service.

After Bob's death Doris moved to Lincoln where she resided at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, Amy and Oliver; infant sister Jean Elizabeth and brother Dean. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Richard of Clarinda, IA; daughter Harriette Woodward of Lincoln, NE; grandson Matthew Woodward of Seattle, WA; granddaughter Amy Woodward and husband Dan Gard of Nashville, TN; grandson John Woodward, Jr. and wife Sandy of Rochester, MN; granddaughter Emily Bennett and husband Bob of Chickasha, OK; great-grandson Robert Woodward and wife Allison of Lincoln, NE; great-granddaughter Trudy Woodward of Lincoln, NE; other relatives and a host of friends.
