Doris "June" Greenwalt, age 89, died peacefully on November 28, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Nebraska City, Nebraska after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born to the late Frank and Beatrice (Mullen) Purtle on December 24, 1924 in Westboro, Missouri.

June grew up in Westboro and was involved with farm life at an early age. She received her education in the Westboro rural school system. On December 30, 1944, June was united in marriage to Harold "Bill" Greenwalt at the Congregational Parsonage in Shenandoah. To this union, Deborah, ZoAnna, and Claudia were born.

In addition to raising three children, June worked for the Earl May Seed and Nursery Company and occasionally worked in the local community until she retired.

June was a member of the First Christian Church of Shenandoah, she sang in the church choir and was very active in her church for many years. She was a 25 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary and remained an active volunteer in the community. She took great pride in following the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding June in death were her husband Bill Greenwalt (2002), granddaughter Janie Hagglund (2002), brother Merrill G. (2003) and Stanley (2008) Purtle.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah and Colonel (retired) Lloyd Keeton of Rockledge, Florida; ZoAnna McAdams of Omaha, Nebraska; Claudia and Chuck Brooks of Farragut, Iowa; and twin sister Delores "Jean" Dillow of Salem, Oregon. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Julie (Joseph) Cassady, Jennifer (Jeffery) Post, Jill (Mathew) Lofton, Anthony McAdams, Tiffani Caleb, Amy (Tyrone) Howard, Claudia (Jerry) Stokes, Curtis (Leslie) Brooks, and Craig (Lesley) Brooks; 14 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Harley Greenwalt; and sister-in-law, Sandy Greenwalt; other relatives and friends.

Memorials in June's name are being directed to the Golden Living Center, Alzheimer's Unit, 1420 N 10th St, Nebraska City, NE 68140. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
