Obituary

Donna Vee Strange, daughter of Lloyd and Lillian (Ross) Stokes, was born February 2, 1943 in Essex, Iowa. She passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her home in Essex. Iowa.

Donna was united in marriage to Floyd Lee Strange, Jr. on February 4, 1961 at the Christian Church in Clarinda, Iowa. They were blessed with seven children Ronnie Dean, Boyd Lee, Brenda Leigh, Dale Gene, Linda Kay, Jackie Lynn and Sherry Leigh.

Donna was employed for many years at the Essex Locker. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Enjoyed coloring and puzzles. Loved to shop at Goodwill stores and spending time with her family and pets.

Donna was preceded in death by her son Ronnie Dean, her parents, brothers Gene, Danny, and Ross Stokes, sisters Doris and Joann.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years Floyd Strange, Jr. of Essex, children Boyd Strange and wife Barb of Clarinda, Brenda Ridnour and husband Red of Essex, Dale Strange and friend Kathy of Arkansas, Linda Lawson and husband Chris of Nebraska, Jackie Butler and husband David of Essex, Sherry Hedditch and husband Matt of Essex, grandchildren Katie Butler, Mathew Ridnour, Nathan Ridnour, Samantha Hedditch, Owen Hedditch, Tim Strange, Brandy Strange, Jeremy Lawson, Joe Lawson, Zach Lawson, Tony Lawson and Sandy Lawson, four great-grandchildren, other extended family and numerous friends.

Celebration of life memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah.

Burial of cremains will be held at the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Iowa.
