Obituary

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Donna Lou Emma Jurgens was born on September 2, 1930 in Mineola, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Ruth (Saar) Jurgens.  Donna entered into her heavenly home on February 7, 2022 in Shenandoah, Iowa at the blessed age of 91 years.

Donna's early years were spent in Mineola where she attended country school until the age of 11 years.  The family then moved to Glenwood where she graduated from Glenwood High School with the Class of 1948.  Donna was well known as a "Yodeling Sweetheart" who regularly performed on KMA.  On May 27, 1955 she was united in marriage to Carl Clifford Stogdill.  The couple resided in Council Bluffs after their marriage then moved to various communities in Southwest Iowa.  The couple enjoyed buying various homes and fixing them up, then moving on to their next home.  They were house flippers, before it was popular.

During her working years she was employed as a clerk at the local "dime" store in Glenwood and also worked at Lemodes Dry Cleaners before attending to her greatest career which was being a stay at home mom.  Some of her hobbies and interests included decorating houses, making scrapbooks of her "dream homes/rooms", collecting antique glassware, playing cards with friends, attending auctions and flea markets, shopping, chatting with friends and spending quality time with her family especially her grandchildren.  Donna had the patience of a saint and was always willing to help anyone in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Duane Jurgens, sister Alyce Katherine, husband Carl, son Jeffrey, grandson Bobby Reafleng and niece Julaine (Tootie) Vanatta Lavigne.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children Melanie (Randy) Reafleng and Randy Stogdill;  grandchildren James (Catie) Reafleng, Candace (Rafael) Pablo, Tina Stogdill, Samantha Stogdill, Amy Reafleng (Kevin Sciranko) and Lisa Reafleng; sister Phyllis Vanatta; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
