Donald Dean Whitehill was born on June 27, 1929 to Lee and Annie (Tyner) Whitehill.  Don entered into eternal peace on February 3, 2024 at the Accura Healthcare Center in Shenandoah at the blessed age of 94 years.

Don was 4th boy born into the family.  His mother died when he was 5 years old.  His father later remarried Opal Chambers-Dinsmore and the family grew to 11 children.  Don served his country with pride in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was a proud member of the American Legion where he especially enjoyed helping with their legendary fish fries for over 30 years.  Don was recently a recipient of a quilt of valor, which he cherished.

In 1957 Don was united in marriage to Donna Shields.  From this union two children were born, Scott and Shelly.  Donna passed away in 1978.  In 1982 Don was united in marriage to Elaine Hamilton.  Elaine brought two daughters into their marriage Teresa and Debra.  The blended family enjoyed many good times together over the years.

Don was a dedicated farmer whose true passion was in everything ag related.  He enjoyed working on the farm, attending livestock sales, hauling livestock and hauling gravel.  He also enjoyed watching football and rodeos.

Preceding him in death were his parents; step-mother Opal; siblings Kenneth (Fairis), Darrell (Dorothy), Boyd (Gwen), Duane (Gwyneth), Jim (Nancy), Bob (Ina Rhea)  and Barbara. Those left to cherish is memory include his wife Elaine; children Scott Whitehill and wife Rebeccah and Shelly Schmidt and husband Bud: step-daughters Teresa Walker and Debra Hamilton; 3 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 3 step-great- grandchildren; siblings Harold (Eloise) Dinsmore, LeRoy (Lorene) Whitehill and Darlene Harbin; brother-in-law Junior Taylor;  many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
