Obituary

Donal Ames Biggers the son of William Franklin Biggers and Nellie Mae Purgeson Biggers was born on October 3, 1925 at Ames, Iowa and entered into rest at Clarinda Regional Health Center in Clarinda, Iowa on February 23, 2017.

After his birth the family lived in Farragut, Iowa where Donal was raised. He attend school in Farragut graduating with the class of 1943. On April 27, 1947 he was united in marriage to Barbara Stirk at Clarinda, Iowa. After their marriage they resided in Atlantic, Iowa. He worked for Brown Shoe Fit Company from 1943-1987. With Brown's he worked from 1943-1947 in Shenandoah, 1947-1952 in Atlantic,, Iowa, 1952-1958 in Falls City, Nebraska; then he came to the corporate offices in Shenandoah and worked from 1958 until his retirement in 1987.

Donal was a member of the United Methodist Church in Shenandoah, former member of the Lions Club, and JayCees. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and was one of the Nebraska Cornhuskers biggest fans.

Donal was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nellie Biggers, his sisters, Delores Harrison, and Shirley Henggeler and his beloved wife Barbara Biggers on September 20, 2014.

Survivors include his sons David Biggers and wife Joy of Carlsbad, CA, and Ron Biggers and wife Debbie of Shenandoah, IA; 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Goehring of Underwood, IA, Emily Biggers of Carlsbad, CA, Brandon Biggers and wife Kami of Shenandoah, IA, Blaire Figueroa and husband Jorge of San Marcos, CA, and Garrett Bankhead of Westminister, CA; sister Dorothy Rogers of Shenandoah, IA; brother-in-law Bob Henggeler; great grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden and Harrison Goehring of Underwood, IA, Roman Donal Biggers of Shenandoah, IA and Benny Figueroa of San Marcos, CA; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11 a.m.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Shenandoah or the American Diabetes Association.
