Dollita, 95, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 at North Care Hospice in Kansas City, MO. Dollita Fern Johnston, daughter of Emit and Viola Verl (Starnes)Lewis, was born on October 11, 1915 at Westboro, Missouri.
Dollita was a wonderful mother and grandmother, a loving and caring sister, aunt, good neighbor and best of friends. Dollita worked at Wolf Brother's Department Store for over 30 years.
She was a member and President of the American Business Women's Association. She was previously named "Woman of the Year" as just one of her many acheivements. She blessed everyone she knew with her wonderful "Fudge".
Dollita is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Rafferty and husband Raymond; three grandchildren, John Dozier, Julie Hochstedler and Jim Dozier; four of her six sisters, Mista Harms, Lavaun Hanesworth, Evelyn Shepherd and Nedra Griffith; one brother, E.L. Lewis; and brother-in-law, Neal Shepherd. In addition, she has five nieces, five nephews, 12 great grandchildren and eight great, great grandchildren. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah. Memorials are being directed to the family.
