Delores Lucille (Lincoln) Wiesen was born on June 5, 1938 in Council Bluffs, IA the daughter of Herbert and Mildred (Boyer) Lincoln. Delores entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Shenandoah Medical Center following a brief battle with cancer.
Delores was raised on the Lincoln home place outside of Pacific Junction. She graduated from Glenwood High School with the Class of 1955. She continued her education at Nebraska Methodist Nursing School. During her Junior year of nursing school, she was united in marriage to Joseph R. Wiesen on October 6, 1956. Following their marriage the couple moved to Omaha, NE and then to Lincoln where they had 6 children. In 1972 the family moved to Shenandoah where they lived for the next 37 years. Delores and Joe were married for 46 years before his passing in 2002.
Delores was a dedicated homemaker and also helped Joe at the grocery store when she was needed as an accountant. She also worked part time at Henry Fields after all of the children were in school.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Guild where she served as president. She also would deliver communion to the homebound and assist with counting the offering following mass. She was also a member of the Kiwanis Club where she served as president during the 1992-1993 year. The couple loved to take their children and grandchildren on the Kiwanis' chicken circuit during the summer months. The couple also helped organize the Share Program and served on several other committees within the community. Delores had a passion for the theater and participated in several plays with the Southwest Iowa Theater Group. Her most memorable performance was "Everybody Loves Opal" in which she won the Best Actress for the 1977-1978 season.
Delores loved playing the piano and having family "sing alongs" at Christmas time. Her favorite activity was going to her grandchildren's sporting events, home or away games, she was always their to cheer them on.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph R. Wiesen, a grandson Jarrod Maher and brother Joe Lincoln.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Theresa Price and husband Rick of Riverton, IA; Shari Teachout and husband Mike of Shenandoah; Jodi Knight and husband Rob of Dallas, TX; Jacque Maher and husband Kevin of Imogene; Joe Wiesen, Jr. and Diana Wiesen both of Shenandoah; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister Deanna Kruse and family of Silver City; brothers Kenneth Lincoln and family of Bellevue, NE and Paul Lincoln and family of Columbus, NE; sister-in-law Louise Lincoln and family of Logan, IA; other family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Vern Smith celebrating the mass. Jane Emgee and Bonnie Ward attended the memorial register while Dr. Pat Emgee and Bennett Blane served as ushers. Lector for the service was Richard Haigwood and Eucharistic Ministers were Vaughn Livingston and Mike Teachout. Special music for the service was played by Mary Beth Gowing with Sue and Tommy Hanna serving as song leaders. Gift Bearers included Nicki Blane, Jessica Greatorex, Stacy Teachout, Sheena Molsbee and Amanda Barton. Casket Bearers included Cody Wiesen, Cameron Wiesen, Tyler Maher, Nick Maher, Dan Maher, Eric Putnam, Christopher Knight, Joey Knight, and Jarrod Maher, in spirit. Interment followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
