Obituary

David Lee Dunlap was born on December 9, 1949 at the Hand Hospital in Shenandoah, Iowa to Darrell and Reba (Dehart) Dunlap.  David entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, May 5, 2025 in Omaha, Nebraska following a brief illness.

David was raised in the community of Westboro, Missouri.  He attended Yale Country School, Tarkio Elementary School and later graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1968.  Following graduation he joined the United States Air Force and served his country with pride until 1971 when he received an honorable discharge.

On April 28, 1984 he was united in marriage to Jadean Winter in Tarkio, Missouri.  During his working years he farmed around the Westboro area and later worked at Sidney Ag Center until its closing.  David loved to hunt for deer and turkey.  He also enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time outdoors and mowing his lawn.  He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. On the outside he might have appeared grumpy, but if you showed him respect, he would do anything for you.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Leona Arenas.  Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Jadean Dunlap; children Bethanie Woods and husband  Jacob and their children Ashton, Brantley, Emmett, Dixie, Jackson and Daenerys, Fredrick Dunlap and his children Ethan, Shaelynn and Addilynn, Michael Dunlap,  Stasha Antunez and husband Manuel and their children Santos (Lane), Mayra and Matteo; and Leona and Javier's children Alexandria and Irlanda; 3 great-grandchildren Jacklyn, Layliana and Leonardo; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wabash Memorial Chapel.  The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.  Burial will follow in the Walden Grove Cemetery with full military honors.  Memorials may be directed to the family.
