Darlene M. Rupp, daughter of Edward and Clara (Anderson) Thompson was born on August 19, 1923 in Adams County, Iowa. She passed away on August 24, 2014 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 91.
Her childhood was spent in Carbon and Nodaway, Iowa for a number of years. She graduated from country school in the Corning area. She was united in marriage to Glen G. Bales on August 24, 1944 in Tooele, Utah. After the passing of Glen, Darlene was united in marriage to Gerald D. Rupp on February 3, 1966 in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Darlene worked for Mt Arbors Nurseries and a packing plant in Omaha. She enjoyed camping and fishing.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husbands Glen Bales and Gerald Rupp and two sons Gary and Jim.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children; William Bales of Essex, Don Bales of Shenandoah, Richard Bales of Essex, Linda Bales of Essex, and Glen Bales of Des Moines; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sisters; Ellen Rasmic of Missouri and Marjorie Hoyt of Red Oak; step-children; Jerry Rupp of Shenandoah, John Rupp of Shenandoah, Iris McAnly of Villisca and Iona Allen of Corning; several step grandchildren and great- grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
