Daniel Curtis Correll was born on March 11, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Henry Herbert and Mary Marie (Newcome) Correll. Dan entered into eternal peace on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa.
Dan's early years were spent in the East Detroit area, where he graduated high school with the Class of 1957. Following graduation he joined the United States Air Force and served his country with pride until 1961. While serving in the Air Force he met the love of his life, Sandra Drake who was also serving in the Air Force. The couple was married on September 30, 1960 at Travis Air Force Base in California. The couple made their first home in Fairfield, California.
During his working years, Dan was employed as a salesman in Idaho, Montana and Utah. He later worked for ROMECH in Red Oak, Iowa and retired in 2004. Some of Dan's hobbies included golfing, camping, playing tennis, cross country and downhill skiing, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and doing various art projects. Dan was also a member of the Essex Presbyterian Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandy; son, Peter Correll and wife Natalie, grandsons, Brendan and Finley and granddaughter Hannah.
Celebration of Life Visitation Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home. Burial will be held later that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the Essex Cemetery with full military rites.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the Essex Fire and Rescue Department.
