Dale William Staley, the son of Ival and Esther (Giles) Staley, was born July 30, 1949 in Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away May 28, 2015 at his home in Columbia, Tennessee.

Dale was born and grew up in Shenandoah, Iowa. On April 8, 1969 he entered the U.S. Navy, he served over three years and honorably discharged from the Navy on April 4, 1973. He then enlisted into the Navy Reserves until December of 1974. During this time he received his Diploma of Graduation from the Adult High School Division on September 3, 1974. He was also a member of the Iowa National Guard from 1977 until 1981.

Dale worked for Union Carbide / Eveready / Energizer Battery Company in Red Oak, Iowa and Fremont, Ohio and Frito Lay in Columbia, Tennessee. Dale was retired when he passed away.

Dale enjoyed auctions, bargain shopping, hunting, fishing, collectibles and travelling. He was really good at karaoke and singing Elvis songs.

Dale was preceded in death by his mother Esther Rochester, father Ival Staley, grandmother Bertha Morcomb and step-grandfather Jim Morcomb.

Dale is survived by his sons Jason Staley and wife Lynette of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Kevin Staley of Red Oak, Iowa, grandson Ethen Staley of Red Oak, Iowa, sisters Shirley Jeffries of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Norma Jean Williams and husband Ron of Tabor, Iowa, Roxanne Rochester of Glenwood, Iowa, and Irene Whittier and husband Reggie of Lewiston, Maine, brother Darrell Staley and wife Janie of Des Moines, Iowa, other relatives and friends.

Burial of cremains will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah, Iowa with military rites provided by American Legion Post #88 of Shenandoah, Iowa.
