Dale Barnes was born on June 1, 1934 in Hamburg, Iowa, the son of Vernon and Merna (Smalley) Barnes. He entered into eternal peace on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the Manor of Malvern in Malvern, Iowa.

Dale went to public school for several years before attending school at the Iowa School for The Deaf, where he completed his education. He later worked at the Donut Stop in Shenandoah, at Hardee's in Clarinda, and did other odd jobs around the area.

Dale was a fun loving guy. He was a hard worker and enjoyed helping others. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece Pamela Ann Barnes.

Those left to honor his memory include his brother David Barnes and special friend Bev McAlpin of Red Oak, Iowa; Nephew Pat Barnes and wife Carol of Bettendorf,IA; great- nieces and nephew; Jessica Barnes, Melissa Barnes, Andrew Barnes, and Rachael Barnes all of Bettendorf, Iowa; and many cousins and friends.
