Obituary

Clark Allen Anderson was born on August 26, 1932 in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of Alvin and Lillie (Gustafson) Anderson. Clark entered peacefully into the arms of his Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Quail Run Health Care Center in Cameron, Missouri at the age of 79 years.

Clark's early years were spent on his parent's farm near Norwich, with his four brothers and two sisters. He attended country school until the 5th grade and then began helping his father on the farm.

On October 12, 1962 he was united in marriage to Myrna Joyce Miller at the Church of Christ in New Market and to this union one son, Lee Allen was born.

In 1963 Clark was employed by the City of Clarinda where he worked for 31 years, having retired in 1994. He enjoyed working for the city and never complained. Many times he would be called out during the night to plow snow so the streets and the airport road would be clear of snow and ready for the next day. That was his job and he loved it! Nothing meant more to him that when it was time to go home an be greeted at the door by his son. Clark was one of the happiest people anyone would ever meet. He always had that perfect smile on his face.

The family made their home for many years in Clarinda. Upon his retirement, they moved to Shenandoah. Clark loved his home and went to great lengths mowing and trimming to keep the yard looking nice. He was very particular and he and his son worked side by side doing work together. Due to decling health Clark entered a nursing home in March of 2011.

Clark will be remembered as a very kind person doing whatever he could to help someone else. He was especially good to his mother and sister, Beth Ann, after the death of his father. His family was most important to him. Clark was especially close to his son, Lee. Together they spent endless hours watching western movies, especially John Wayne movies and wrestling on t.v. Clark enjoyed country music as well.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his beloved wife of 49 years, Myrna; brothers Irvin, Howard and Marvin and brother-in-law Bill Rulon.

Left to cherish his memory include his son Lee Allen Anderson of Shenandoah; brother Richard Anderson and wife Gene Ann of Sibley, IA; sisters Donna Rulon ad Beth Ann Anderson both of Shenandoah; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

May God grant comfort and strength to those who mourn his loss.
