Carolyn Sue (Neill) Houston, daughter of John L. and Mary Frances (Evison) Neill, was born November 8, 1942 in a Taylor County farmhouse south of Corning, Iowa. She passed away on February 6, 2017 at the Stanton Care Center in Stanton, Iowa at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 29 days.

Carolyn enjoyed the company of cats and educating herself on all the different breeds of cats, their markings, and personality traits. She also enjoyed watching classic movies and TV shows. Carolyn was a collector of paper dolls and Terry Lee dolls. Most of all, Carolyn loved to travel and visit with people, in particular family and old friends

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 43 years, Gordon Houston of Stanton, Iowa; son Mario (Jennifer) Houston of Omaha, Nebraska; son Dennis Houston (Ashley Colwell) of Stanton, Iowa; daughter-in-law Genevieve Houston of Stanton, Iowa; grandchildren Sabrina, Taylor, Austin, Hunter, Rylan, and Mavrick Houston; brother Edward (Kay) Neill of Omaha, Nebraska; and sister Betty Scherzinger of Leawood, Kansas, other family and numerous friends.

Celebration of life memorial service will be held 11:00 am, February 18, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall in Shenandoah, Iowa.

Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, February 18, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall in Shenandoah, Iowa.

Burial of cremains will be held privately at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa.
