C. Fern Livingston, age 91, of Council Bluffs passed away December 3, 2006, in Shenandoah, Iowa. Fern was born August 15, 1915, in Neligh, Nebraska to Roy and Clara (Penn) Thiemann. Fern graduated from Neligh High School in 1933 and attended the University of Nebraska. She and C. Wayne Livingston were married in Papillion, Nebraska on November 27, 1936. They moved to Council Bluffs in 1943 where Wayne worked as a funeral director and co-owner of Woodring Funeral Home. Fern was a substitute teacher and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Retired Teachers Association, Evening Stars Circle, Widows Care and Share, AARP, and the Hi-Low Pinochle Club. She was especially active in Church, holding many offices with different Methodist organizations. Fern also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, embroidery and above all, her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Wayne Livingston (1983), parents, two brothers, and an infant son. Fern will be sadly missed by her daughter Barbara Kay Johnson of Fort Collins, CO, son Vaughn Livingston and wife Joan of Shenandoah, IA; grandchildren, Jeff Johnson, Lincoln, NE, Stacy Johnson, Mexico, Leesa Balik and husband Brent, Ft. Collins, CO, Troy Livingston and wife Heidi, Kansas City, MO, Matthew Livingston and wife Tammy, Council Bluffs, IA, Amy Gould and husband Neal of Pleasant Hill, IA; great grandchildren, Zander Wayne Livingston and Ruby Nicolle Livingston; and sister-in-law Sharlyn Foote of Texas.
