Services will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wabash Memorial Chapel in Shenandoah.  Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.  The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  The family request that you dress in your favorite sports team attire (Creighton Basketball) or a casual attire.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Bonnie Geneva (Garner) Ward, daughter of Marian and Mildred (Mayo) Garner was born on July 16, 1945 in Rock Port, Missouri.  She passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 79.

Bonnie was raised in the Southwest Iowa area, attending school in Delphos, and then graduated from Mt. Ayr High School with the Class of 1963. After high school she went to Drake University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in 1967.  On November 24, 1967 Bonnie was united in marriage to Bill Ward in Mt. Ayr.  The couple moved to Red Oak  where Bonnie went to work for Montgomery County CPS. In 1972 they moved to Shenandoah where they made their permanent home and raised their two daughters, Ginny and Jacque.  Bonnie went to work as a social worker at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital and then to Gardenview Care Center where she worked until her retirement in 2007.  In 2005, she received the Iowa Social Worker of the Year and was recognized in Des Moines.   She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shenandoah and BPW.

Nearest and dearest to her heart was being a Granny to Justin, Jordan, Jacob, Jessie and Cash and Great Granny to Briar.  She attended every football, basketball, volleyball,  softball and baseball game that the kids played in.  Most teammates of the grandkids also adopted her as their Granny.  She accepted and loved every minute of it.  She  took cake decorating classes at Iowa Western Community College so she could bake cakes and cookies for the grandkids birthday.  Her relaxation came from crocheting.  She took pride in all of her baby dresses, afghans and baby blankets that she made for weddings and new births of all of her nieces, nephews, family and friends.  She loved Creighton basketball and the Minnesota Vikings, especially when they played Bill's Chicago Bears.

Preceding Bonnie in her death were her parents; husband Bill; son-in-law Chad Harold; siblings Bill (Betty), LoDean, Maxine, Harold (Lois) and Ryland (Mary Evelyn); in-laws Frank Carson, Robert (Dee) Ward, Dennis Ward, Tom Ward, Jessie(Carl) Woolums, Ruth Monaghan and Roxie(Doyle) Trullinger.  Survivors include daughters Ginny(Brent) Allumbaugh and Jacque Jones; five grandchildren, Justin (Ying) Jones, Jordan Jones, Jacob (Payton) Jones, Jessie Jones, and Cash Harold; great-grandson Briar Jones; sister Sue Carson; in-laws William Tridle, Jim(Joyce) Ward, Ruth Ward, and Cathy Ward; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
