Betty Lou Endicott, daughter of John L. (Jack) and Sylvia (Borman) Parmerlee, was born on February 23, 1930, in Independence, Missouri. She passed away on Friday, July 7, 2006, at Sister James Nursing Home in Yankton, South Dakota, at the age of 76, following a bout with pancreatic cancer.

Her early life was spent in Independence before moving to Shenandoah, Iowa. Betty later moved to the Northboro area where she graduated from Northboro High School. After high school she moved to Kansas City where she found employment with Bell Telephone. In Kansas City, she met and later married Robert W. Endicott on August 23, 1952. They spent much of their married life in Kansas City, where they raised their three children Sylvia, Robert and Mildred.

Betty and Robert later purchased the "Midway" Restaurant, garage, filling station and machine shop located on the corner of Hwy 333 and Hwy 59, in rural Northboro. Together they owned and operated this business for many years. They resided there until just recently when Betty was diagnosed with cancer. To be closer to their daughter, Sylvia, they moved to Yankton, South Dakota. Betty spent her final days at Avera Sacred Heart, Majestic Bluffs, Sister James Nursing Home.

Preceding her in death were her parents and other family members. Survivors include her husband of over 53 years, Robert W. Endicott of Yankton, SD; daughters Sylvia Sullivan and husband Larry of Yankton, SD, and Mildred K. Cole of Papillion, NE; son Robert L. Endicott and his wife Debbie of Kingsville, MO; three grandsons, Rod Cole, Jr., of Omaha, NE, William Robert (Bill) Cole of LaVista, NE, and James Cole of Ft. Sill, OK; great grandson, Garrett Kasinac; special family friend, John Mansfield of Yankton, SD; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 10, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home is Shenandoah, Iowa. Words of comfort were given by Keith Finlay, Brett Craven and Gary Vogt. Special music was done by Cheryl Morton, Katie Burner and Barbie Torrey. Nancy Finlay attended the memory register. Casket bearers were Art Jones, Rodney (Rod) Cole, William (Bill) Cole, Claude Harris, Brandon Morton and Jack (John) Mansfield. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
