Florence Barbara Biggers, daughter of Ernest and Florence Elizabeth (Noakes) Stirk, was born on November 15, 1928 in Shenandoah, Iowa. She entered into rest on September 20, 2014 at the Bryan Health Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 85.

Barbara's early life was spent growing up in Clarinda, Iowa, where she attended school until her sophomore year, when the family moved to Belle Fourche, South Dakota. Following graduation, she moved back to Clarinda where she worked as a telephone operator.

On April 27, 1947, Barbara was united in marriage to the love of her life, Donal A. Biggers in Clarinda. Following their marriage they resided in Atlantic, Iowa where their two boys were born, David and Ronald. They would later make moves to Emporia, KS, Falls City, NE and finally back to southwest Iowa to Shenandoah in 1959 where Donal managed Brown Shoe Fit stores in each of those communities before accepting a position in the home office.

In 1961, Barbara started working at Brown's Specialty Shop as a sales person/clerk. Brown's later moved and renamed the store to Young America where she worked as manager until 1975.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Sweet Adelines, La Femme Gema Club, a couple of Bridge Clubs (mixed couples and all female), as well as being a member of a swimming fitness group. Barbara loved swimming (she was very proud of hitting the 100 mile mark), knitting, pottery, ornamental gardening and flowers, golfing with Dad, home decorating, playing bridge and baking cookies for the grandkids. Mom always enjoyed having family and friends around and loved to cook (and try new recipes) putting on big spreads for holidays and special occasions and just being together.

Preceding Barbara in death were her parents; and three sisters, Lottie Sherrill, Gladys Coy and Geneiva Johnston. Survivors include her loving husband, Donal Biggers of Clarinda; two sons, David Biggers and wife Joy of Carlsbad, CA and Ron Biggers and wife Debbie of Shenandoah; five grandchildren, Kimberly Goehring and husband Brett of Underwood, IA, Emily Biggers of Encinitas, CA, Brandon Biggers and wife Kami of Essex, Blaire Figueroa and husband Jorge of Encinitas, CA, and Garrett Bankhead of Los Angeles, CA; four great grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden and Harrison Goehring of Underwood, IA, and Roman Donal Biggers of Essex; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Rogers of Shenandoah, Shirley Henggeler and husband Bob of Maryville, MO; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

A memorial is being established in Barbara's name. Inurnment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
