Arla M. Holman, daughter of Harold John and Freyda Josephine (Hinrichsen) Schneekloth, was born on December 16, 1937 in Monona County, Iowa. She passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa, at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 17 days.
In her early years, Arla attended school at the Mapleton, Iowa Consolidated Schools. The family later moved to Shenandoah, where she attended the Shenandoah Community Schools, graduating from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1957.
Raising her four boys, Rodney, Rick, Randy and Ron, Arla was always kept pretty busy. She worked for Earl May Seed and Nursery for a number of years before retiring. Arla also worked for the Hy-Vee bakery and did some waitressing also.
Arla very much enjoyed watching her grandson, Tyler, play high school football. She loved flowers and also enjoyed watching the squirrels and birds outside her window. She was a member of the Shenandoah Eagles Club.
Preceding Arla in death were her parents; and son, Rodney Beck. Survivors include her sons, Rick Beck, Randy Beck and Ron Kalkas and his wife Tammy; four grandchildren, Tyler, Annie, Joshua and Jered; two great grandchildren, Jacob and Lexie; other relatives and friends.
