Allan Delbert Travis, son of Cecil and Shirley (Jones) Travis, was born on September 26, 1953, in Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away on December 13, 2021, at the Omaha VA Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Allan was the younger sibling to older brother Edward Travis. Allan attended Shenandoah High School graduating with the class of 1971. From there, Allan joined the United States Army. He spent three years enlisted as a clerk stationed in Korea. Allan moved back to Shenandoah in 1974 and began working in Red Oak, Iowa at D&L. After D&L closed, Allan joined Mediacom until the age of retirement.
Allan enjoyed reading, acquiring quite a collection of books and magazines. He was an avid collector of Native American Indian artifacts; he filled his home with many beloved keepsakes. He also enjoyed spending time with him family. Favorite memory of Allan was the annual fishing trip to Lake Osakis, Minnesota.
Allan is survived by this brother Edward Travis and wife Jonya; niece Melody Wells and her husband Shon and their three children Miani, Somari and Ariah; niece Tiffany Travis and her two children Alexus Willis and Cash Harold.
The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to all the caring staff that helped assist Allan in his journey.
Private family burial of cremains will be held at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery.
