Lois Alice Mutchler was born on November 23, 1922 on a farm east of Tarkio, Missouri to Floyd and Sadie (Clark) Mutchler.  Alice entered into eternal peace on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Accura Health Care Center in Stanton, Iowa, where she had resided for 3 weeks, just a few weeks shy of her 99th birthday.

Alice attended country school. She loved helping her father on the farm and was known to help whenever she could.   After the start of WWII she moved to Kansas City to  work for the Pratt Whitney Company, which made engines for the B-24 bombers.  She lived with her aunt and uncle while doing her part to help with the war efforts. She was a real live "Rosie the Riveter". She was very proud of her time helping the war effort.  After the war ended, she returned home to Shenandoah to work for Mt Arbor Nursery.

While working for Mt Arbor Nursery she met her husband Edward Erickson.  The couple was married on August 31, 1947.  This union was blessed with four children; Charlotte, Shelia, Michael and Steven.  They later moved to Bethesda where they farmed and raised their family.   Alice was employed at Union Carbide in Red Oak for 25 years. She left this position to care for her husband Ed.  After the passing of her husband she then went to work at the Stanton Care Center and later at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.  She later moved from the farm to an apartment in Essex.

Alice enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities including their sporting events, 4-H activities, and musicals.  She also enjoyed traveling to visit her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward, son-in-law Lawrence (Larry) Stasko and siblings Wayne (Essie) Mutchler, Tully (Mabel) Mutchler, Earl (Opal) Mutchler, Ruth (Claude) Worley, Ersie (Lee) Graham, Alberta (Everett) Carper, Grace (Donald) Reitz, Marlene (Lowell) Ross, and Imogene (James) Moore.  Those left to cherish her memory include her children Charlotte Stasko, Shelia Erickson, Michael (Connie) Erickson and Steve (Nancy) Erickson; sister Jane Bragg; grandchildren Adam (Enika) Stasko, Shelly (Troy) Preston, Matthew (Carla) Erickson, Amanda (Clint) Wooten and Corey Erickson; great-grandchildren Sadie and Slade Graham, Wyatt Stasko, Kody and Aubrey Erickson, Carter, Rylie and Josie Wooten, Jade Smith and Maia Erickson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be used for a memorial scholarship in Alice's honor.
