Alberta (Campin) Bryan was born on April 12, 1909 in Shenandoah, Iowa, the daughter of Jim and Stella (Septer) Campin. Alberta entered into eternal peace on April 18, 2010 at the Elm Heights Care Center in Shenandoah at the distinctive age of 101 years old.
Alberta was raised in Farmer's City. She attended school and graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1927. On December 13, 1929 she was united in marriage to William B. Hilger. They were later blessed with the birth of three children William, Joanne, and Duane. They lived on a farm between Riverton and Farragut, before moving to Shenandoah in 1942. The couple was blessed with 30 years of marriage before Bill's passing on June 4, 1960. Alberta later found happiness with Jerry Bryan, the couple was married on June 15, 1963. The family resided in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri following their marriage and later moved to Omaha in the late 70's. They enjoyed 32 years of marriage before his passing in 1995. Alberta continued to reside in Omaha until moving to Elm Heights Care Center in 2004.
Alberta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was an avid bowler and golfer. She also enjoyed playing bridge and caring for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; siblings Jim and Mildred, stepsiblings Pauline and Grace, and daughter-in-law Roberta Hilger.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children William Hilger of Omaha, NE, Joanne Starke and husband Clint of Lockport, NY and Duane Hilger and wife Barbara of Farragut, IA; grandchildren Brian Hilger and Denise Hilger both of Omaha, NE, David Starke and wife Jan of Oregon, James Starke of NJ, Diane Noto of Long Island, Michael Starke and wife Kris of Lockport, NY, John Edward Starke and wife Joyce of Concord, NC, Sharon Fairfield and husband Bob of Gladstone, MO, Dan Hilger and Mark Hilger both of Farragut, IA and Steve Hilger of Omaha, NE; 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; other family and friends.
