Alpha Marlene Racine, the daughter of Hamilton J. and Flora C. (Jordan) Foster was born in Riverton, Iowa, on July 5, 1931. She entered into rest on January 31, 2015 at the Ambassador Care Center in Sidney Iowa. She was 83 years old.

Marlene spent most of her life in the Fremont and Page County areas. Marlene attended school in Riverton, Iowa, graduating from Riverton High School in 1950.

Marlene was united in marriage to Lester L. Racine at the United Methodist Church in Riverton, Iowa on May 12, 1951. To this union two sons were born; Ron and Randy.

Marlene worked for Mount Arbor Nurseries and for Weaver & Overholster Optometrist. Marlene was a member of the United Methodist Church in Coin, Iowa, active at the Coin Library, member of the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 88 of Shenandoah and a former Lady Elk. Marlene enjoyed gardening, canning, embroidering and helping out at the library. Marlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed her friends which she had many.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Lester Racine, her parents, six brothers and five sisters.

Marlene leaves to morn her passing her two sons Ron Racine and fianc Cindy of Papillion, NE and Randy Racine and wife Kathy of New Market, Iowa, four grandchildren; Wade, Amber, Cole and Anthony; ten great grandchildren Isabelle, Donavon, Ezekiel, Eli, Grayson, Carson, Kimberly, Hallie, Jenna, and Brett. Also surviving is her brother August Foster and wife Opal and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be directed to Coin Fire and Rescue or the Coin Library.

Burial will be at a later date at Riverton Cemetery.

Marlene donated her body to Medical Science to help further research.
